The contents of one bag can absorb between 3.5 and 4.5 gallons (13 to 17 liters) of spilled liquid, depending on the liquid’s viscosity.

These absorbent granules are made of non-chemically treated clay (also called Fuller’s Earth). They can absorb most liquids: aqueous solutions, mineral oils, cooling liquids, acidic or corrosive products, paints, inks, etc. The granules will not crumble and will not leave dust behind.

These granules may also be used for applications beyond spill control. They can protect flammable materials against sparks, keep floors clean and dry, improve drainage in potting soil mixes, and decrease odours in trash cans. In wintertime, these granules can be spread over icy areas to prevent slipping.

Warning: Do not use these granules to absorb turpentine, vegetable oils (such as cooking oils) and other unsaturated organic compounds, or hydrofluoric acid (HF). These substances will cause the granules to greatly overheat, which may cause fires.
